At We Pluribus, we believe in sustainability. We endeavor to be environmentally and socially conscious in our corporate practices. Here's how.
People are always asking us, "Why are you selling only organic clothing? Isn't it more expensive?"
Well, yes, organic shirts are a bit more expensive than those made of conventional cotton. But it's worth it. Consider just a few of the reasons:
| |
 |
Conventionally farmed cotton alone accounts for 25% of the pesticides used in the entire world. |
| |
 |
It takes 1/3 pound of chemicals (pesticides and fertilizers) to grow enough conventionally farmed cotton to make just one t-shirt. |
| |
 |
Five of the top nine pesticides used in the US are known to be carcinogens. |
Organically grown cotton keeps chemical pesticides out of the environment. How can that be a bad thing? These shirts come in many colors, but they are all green.
We Pluribus purchases shirts from vendors with a commitment to fair trade and social equity. We buy sweat-free clothing only.
We Pluribus doesn't over-package our clothing. Your purchase will arrive in a simple cardboard mailer made from 90% recycled paper fiber, with 50% post-consumer recyled content, which will be easily recycled with mixed paper in your community's recycling program.
We Pluribus donates 10% of our company's income to worthwhile charitable organizations. After you complete your order, you'll be prompted to tell us which of these worthy non-profits you'd like your purchase to benefit. We'll donate a proportional amount to each one.
